Susan Hart grew up in Gibbon, Nebraska and now resides in rural Cozad, Nebraska with her husband Jim. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in art education from Kearney State College, Kearney, Nebraska in 1981. Susan taught art for 17 years in Nebraska Dawson County rural schools, and continues to teach children’s workshops for the Museum of Nebraska Art in Kearney, Nebraska as well as workshops for adults in collage and mixed media.
Susan has been accepted into solo and group juried exhibitions such as the Nebraska Arts Council - Governor’s residence program and Fred Simon Gallery, the International Society of Experimental Artists, National Collage Society, the Association of Nebraska Art Clubs traveling exhibition, and the Nebraska Art Teachers Association juried exhibitions. She has earned a signature membership with the International Society of Experimental Artists, National Collage Society and Association of Nebraska Art Clubs.
In addition to being in private and corporate collections, Hart’s paintings are in the permanent collections of the Museum of Nebraska Art - Kearney, Nebraska, Doane University - Crete, Nebraska and York College – York, Nebraska.
